Watershed Management

The purpose of the current Lake Sunapee Watershed Management Plan is to maintain the high quality waters of the lakes, ponds and streams in the watershed and to address ways to improve current water quality in the face of many challenges including continued development and more frequent severe storm events due to climate change.

What You Can Do

Watershed Town Collaborations

We collaborate with the towns in the Lake Sunapee Watershed to address a wide range of environmental and water quality challenges. Each town is represented on our Board of Directors and on our Watershed Committee.  We work with Planning Boards, Zoning Boards, Conservation Commissions, Selectboards, Sewer and Water Commissioners, Health Officers, Highway Department staff, Planning and Zoning Administrators, Land Use Administrators, and others.
