Lake Sunapee Food Web
Watch a presentation about Lake Sunapee's Food Web by Dartmouth undergrad Dylan Wang. Dylan worked with Dr. Jessica Trout-Haney, LSPA's 2022 Midge Eliassen Fellow, to gather data about the cyanobacteria, zooplankton, and phytoplankton found in Lake Sunapee. The presentation is followed by a question and answer session and discussion, including LSPA's volunteer Research Director, Dr. Kak Weathers, LSPA's Executive Director, Dr. Elizabeth Harper, and LSPA staff members Geoff Lizotte and Susie Burbidge. Natalia Gonzalez from New England College presented her research on April 23rd at LSPA’s Center for Lake Studies, analyzing the contents of fish digestive systems using a metabarcoding approach. This genetic technique is enhancing our understanding of the organisms that the fish in our watershed depend on for food.
