LSPA Center for Lake Studies

Discovery . Learning . Research

We are excited to welcome you into our newly renovated space at 63 Main Street! Come check out our new exhibits and interactive watershed table. We are open Monday - Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on some Saturdays for special events only.

LSPA hosts many events in the Harbor Room at the LSPA Center for Lake Studies overlooking Sunapee Harbor. The Harbor Room is also available to other non-profits and community organizations for their meetings and small events. In addition, there is a new space above the Harbor Room where educational programming will be offered as well. The main floor design now offers a new conference room as an additional meeting space for small meetings and another area which holds exhibits and displays including a 3-D model of Lake Sunapee and the surrounding watershed, a Wentz microscope, “Moses” our resident turtle and a mounted loon.

outdoor classroom

LSPA's Coughlin Outdoor Classroom is used for educational classes for children and families. Classes are conducted by LSPA's environmental education staff.

 raingarden

LSPA's demonstration rain garden and "water chain" provides a self-guided tour of landscaping techniques and plants to handle rainwater in an environmentally friendly way.

SOLAR PV SYSTEM

LSPA has added another solar array (pictured above) which is designed to track the movement of the sun from dawn until dusk! The solar panel arrays are located above the Coughlin Outdoor Classroom and powers the facility, with electricity to spare.
