Burkehaven Lighthouse Repairs

The Burkehaven lighthouse is the last of the three Sunapee lighthouses to be refurbished by LSPA in recent years. This lighthouse has a sound crib at present, but it needs some straightening and the siding must be replaced with the same weather-resistant siding as has been put on the other two lighthouses.

Former President Court Cross and lighthouse committee member Ron Wyman expect the work, being done by Alan Mathewson, to be completed before the snow flies. All three lighthouses have new solar-powered lights that blink in different patterns, thanks to the efforts of volunteer John Merriman.
