Workshop Addresses Use of Data

Weathers recently led a one day workshop to discuss the use of the data to be generated by the buoy’s instruments. The focus was on uses for the lay public and students at all levels. Participants included LSPA and Colby-Sawyer College staff and faculty, a data specialist involved in Wisconsin GLEON sites, a Dartmouth scientist, LSPA volunteer John Merriman and one of the Dartmouth engineering students. They explored what data would be of interest and the forms in which they should be available (from raw data to graphs to small nuggets for school teachers). They also addressed technical aspects of the necessary software.
